These trades are all terrible.

TVR is not a top four defenseman. He's a marginal bottom-pairing defenseman. So you're going to trade Jeff Carter WITH salary retention for a 4th line forward and a bottom pairing defenseman?

Trevor Lewis is worth significantly more than two throw-away draft picks. They're not going to trade him unless it's part of a package deal to bring back a better player. He's a locker-room favorite. They're not going to just give him away.

Forbort is a solid 2nd pairing defenseman that regularly plays top pairing minutes. They can do better than Caleb Jones for him. Add a 2nd round draft pick coming LA's direction and maybe this trade would work.

I agree with everything you just said aside from the fact I would trade Forbort for a 7th round pick any day of the week just to get rid of him. Haven't you noticed how often he just watches the play or doesn't cover his guy. I blame him for Doughtys decline. He's a horrible partner for Doughty.

He's in over his head as a top-pairing defenseman playing against the opposition's best forwards. However, if you put him on the 2nd or 3rd pairing, he'd be a quality player. He's a decent 3/4 defenseman or an exceptional 5/6 defenseman

I don't think Doughty is on the decline. He had a slow start to the season, but he has been exceptional over the past 6-8 weeks. He's still a top 3-5 defenseman in the league.

Doughty IS a -16 or something crazy like that, yes that is crazy for Doughty. He is on the decline. None of that is his fault. You may be right about Forbort as a 3rd pairing guy, but his partner better be a really good for a bottom pairing D man for that to balance out. We may never know though as long as he's on the Kings.

He's currently -20, but that's to be expected when the team is -35. Last season, the Kings were +36 and Doughty was +23. In other words, his numbers are indicative of how the team is playing as a whole. Overall, his advanced stats look fine.

Like said, it's not really his fault. Yes the whole team is playing bad, but more than anything, Forbort is hurting him more than anything.

Forbort is a strange player. When he isn't screwing something up, he'll do a really nice play like the one last game with the between the legs pass to Wagner got that goal. Then later in the game he tried that same between the legs pass in defensive some up the boards and turned it over. The quantity his mistakes out way any sort of value he may have on the Kings. I honestly don't believe he is an NHL defender.
