I mean it is **technically** possible. That could end up being the best top 6 of the salary cap era

It would be huge for them, they need depth as they're kind of a 1 line team, but they also need goaltending so maybe they could even trade for a guy like bob if they could guarantee he'd sign there long term

Your "simple math" is wrong. If Ottawa pick @ #1 = 0.185
Colorado pick @ #2 = 0.05

Multiplied it'd be .00925%, not .925%

Lmao bruv. You gotta multiple it by 100 to make it a percentage.

The decimal you get is 0.00925

That’s 0.925%

My bad, I was thinking it was .185 and .05 percent initially.

Where did you get the .05 number?

Idk some draft simulator said that Colorado has a 5% (0.05) chance at getting 2nd overall based on their current place in the standings. Website was kinda sketchy so not sure if that’s accurate but sounds about right

Ahhh, the site I use (tankathon.com, highly recommend it) say they have a 3.8% chance at 2OA

Yeah I’ll take their word then. I can’t even remember the site. I did it really fast on my phone just clicked the first one. Anyways, it’ll be a very low chance regardless

Neither Hughes nor Kakka has played a game in the NHL yet. Hughes has been talked about forever and probably will be special. We'll see on Kakka.

Besides
Dupuis-Crosby-Hossa
Malone-Malkjn-Sykora

Sharp-Toews-Hossa
Bickell-Bolland-kane

Gourde-Pointe-Kucheroc
Johnson-Stamkos-Miller

Ovechkin-Backstrom-Semin
Laich-Koslov-Fleischman

Kunitz-MacDonald-Selanne
Penner-Getzlaf-Perry

Prospal-Richards-Fedetenko
Modin-Vinny-MSL

Clowe-Thornton-Cheechoo
Pavelski-Marleau-Michalek

I never said it “would be”
I said it could be. Which it is entirely possible. If Hughes turns into Eichal and Kappo turns into a Laine type player, that could definitely be #1. Or they could both bust and disappoint. I’m just saying it certainly possible.

The math is still wrong

Event A = COL getting 1st pick
Event B = OTT getting 2nd pick
Event C = COL getting 2nd pick
Event D = OTT getting 1st pick

P(COL getting 1st two picks) = P(A)*P(B given that A already happened) +P(D)*P(C given that D already happened)

Me neither, my friend. I was just injecting a little humor. I'd hate to see Colorado get Hughes and Kakko though, as I'm a Blues fan and would hate to play them with those two and MacKinnon all playing forward.

I wouldnt give Andrighetto more than that, hes a 4th line player who has been a healthy scratch multiple times on a team with bad depth

I get it, bud. I'm not really arguing Adrighetto's salary as bad. I was just making a funny. All of the post's attention is on the slim percent chance of Colorado acquiring the top two draft picks, and I decided to throw a curveball and re-focus attention on something irrelevant like Andrighetto's salary.

unless Wikipedia's lottery odds are wrong or unless I messed something up in excel the odds that COL gets the top 2 picks is about 1.44% (which isnt that far off from 0.925% anyways)
