Bouwmeester/Gunnarsson/Dunn are playing awesome lately and our best LHD from last year (Eddy) is the only one struggling. I think we’re good without Maata.

I forgot to hit "submit trade." I fixed it. Can't move anyone on the big team with the way they are playing, which is why I sent them Walman. I'd think Pittsburgh jumps on it.

Bouwmeester has reset the clock 5 years, Gunnarsson has been playing the best hockey of his career and has insane advanced stats, Dunn adds a totally unique element to this team, Parayko is a monster, and even Pietrangelo is coming around. What a turnaraound by Berube turning our defense into a huge strength after a horrid start.

If I’m not mistaken Jake Walman has gotten healthy scratched a fair amount of times this year in SA. Don’t think he’s worth even one of those 2 picks. Even if he hasn’t, he’s behind Mikkola and Butler talent wise. There’s a reason he’s never been brought up.

Dunn looks great offensively. He still makes me cringe defensively quite a bit. I'd like to see Eddy back with Parayko and Bouwmeester with Petro.

Eh, Bouwmeester-Parayko has been insane defensively and I honestly worry more about Edmundson than Dunn. When Gunnarsson comes back I’d run
Gunnarsson-Pietrangelo
Bouwmeester-Parayko
Dunn-Edmundson

Edmundson with Parayko was able to shut down the top offensive lines in hockey not to mention the best player in hockey when the Blues were playing like crap as a team. It could just be a confidence thing with him right now. Parayko and Bouwmeester has been great, and Petro is cominf around offensively but defensively is still struggling. Take one of your defensive beasts (right now) and place him with another person who needs the help.

Tough to sit anyone right now. Honestly, this drastic raise in play by all 7 defenders leads me to beleive that the Mike Yeo Blues were systematically a disaster. Berube fixed the breakout and now they’re flying. I’ve never seen a turnaround of this magnitude. I mean, Bouwmeester should’ve been waived in October and he’s arguably been our best defender for 2 months.

Yeo was a disaster in Minnesota so it's not a surprised he failed here. That whole coach in waiting thing sucked too. Bouwmeester could have been a hip issue stemming from surgery. Who knows. I think Borts is clearly the one to sit right now.

I think it was a disaster in a different way. Yeo tried to change the system in training camp this year and I respect him for it, but it was a total failure. Everytime they broke out they’d either turn it over or fail to clear. Our breakouts lately have been textbook and we’ve been getting constant odd-man rushes. I’m sure someone will figure it out eventually, but right now we’re rolling over teams.

The thing Berube has done that Yeo failed to do, as well as Hitch, is let the players use their creativity to generate offense and get out of the zone. Yeo didn't like players being creative. It's great to try to play a fast game, but if you don't let players use the skills they have that got them to the NHL, they will fail. Berube has allowed for this to happen similar to Mike Sullivan in Pittsburgh.

6'2" LHD who is a puck mover and very adept offensively. His only knock is he's a little thin and needs some good weight. He's been ready for about a year and a half now, but cannot crack the Blues LHD due to being so deep. He's a good one, and projects to be another Vince Dunn-like guy.

He's deemed to thin and light. That's his main knock. Someone in S.A. needs to put him on the Barry Bonds-Sammy Sosa diet.

I would add as well that Berube doesn't punish a young player when he makes a mistake. If you pissed off Hitch and especially Yeo, you weren't changing out of your suit when you arrived at the rink...just heading upstairs.
