You realize I just did that to make a flip deal, because at the current state of Sens rebuild quantity of assets > quality? They need as many picks rn as they can get.

No duh, but why would Columbus have to add a pick if they're giving up the better player??

Option one: Keep Panarin and lose him to FA
Option two: Acquire Stone for the cost of a conditional 2nd and replace Panarin with him

Which would you choose?

Option 3 where they send Panarin to Florida for the same package you think Ottawa would get for him...

Except the Jackets need a star winger in the package and where do you get that from in Florida? Huberdeau might be available but he's not even close to Stone/Panarin. Same with Dadonov.

because they are NOT giving up the better player, Stone is better than Panarin, but not by much.
