I think the ask from the Wild will be a 1st for Staal. You could probably get the Hamburglar for a 6th. So make it Staal + Hammond for 2019 1st + 2019 6th and call it a day.

You get Petan,(would fit into your lineup) a Hobey Baker finalist in Suess(also a local boy) and a 2nd instead of a first...cuz that goes to OTT..smile

No room for Petan on our roster. He's more of a LW than a C to me, and we already have Parise, Zucker, Greenway, and Foligno on the left side.

You're really selling the farm for a couple rentals.

I heard this morning on TSN radio that Staal has a 10 team no trade list and the Jets are on it, apparently most of the teams on it are playoff teams, seems like he isn't too interested in leaving Minnesota.

He played C on the Moose last year. He played LW as the Jets had Copp. He is a decent player just no room on the Jets for him

This is true, but the list was given much earlier in the year and I think it was more so that he could control where he would go IF he were to be in trade talks (which he is). Stastny waived to go to the Jets, so it isn't completely out of the realm of possibility that Staal would too.

Yes I know that, but 5'9" players have a much easier time playing center in the AHL than the NHL. At the NHL he just seems like a better winger to me and we have a logjam at LW, thus he's not really a fit for us.

Three years ago I would have the Jets on mine toosmile

Minny would have to ask him....just like STL did with Stastny

If that’s true, that sucks! But...since when are these things made public???

That is a great way to convert a limited no trade clause into a no movement clause.

As a Sens fan, I'd want better prospects. In saying that if you get Stone and sign him to an extension I will switch teams.......this teams a nightmare.
