Connor is getting 6-7 million, no way he takes 4 mil. MTL would also have to give up more than a second
Jordie Benn isnt worth a second try a fifth.
Marner might get offer sheeted but TOR can afford the price youre getting him at, try 12+ million and maybe you get him.

i think we'd offer sheet a player that's actually broke in as a Center at that cost .

Connor no but Lemieux could be grabbed with the focus on Connor ,Laine and Trouba .
Lemieux is our style of player and would be great with Kotkanemi i think as he creates havoc infront of the net .

yeah the benn thing i'll be back when he lands a 2nd to explain how supply vs demand works at the TDL .
Ron Hainsey wasnt worth a 2nd according to everyone but he landed it , Plekanec's wasnt worth a 2nd but landed it , frig jerabek wasnt worth a 5th but landed it .

its called the Free Market and its the basis in which both Canada and USA function as a society .

yeah, I'm not gonna hold my breath on that one. Its possible that MTL doesnt even trade him and keeps him for their playoff run.

i doubt it he's a UFA and having a career year for turnovers. Solid 6th/7th D shot blocker but outside that a liability with the puck . (without the puck he's solid which is why he plays better on his off side.)

he's been demoted back to bottom RD in favor of CGY former 7th D and MIN former 7th D .
with Folin arriving and MB scouting the last 3 ANA games personally i think you'll see MTL make a move upgrading Benn .

MB was pretty high on Muhara last year when talking about Fleury and his Chemistry .
that being said its more likely he targets a Fowler to help Mete transition into the top 4 role without having to be the guy right away .

like MB said he's re-tooling to try to win a series not sacrificing to win a cup as we're in a youth revolution over here shedding all the older players that arent named Weber and Price .

Habs would give up a Second round pick because that's what the compensation is for an offer sheet at that salary. Both of these salaries are at the very max of the compensation bracket, therefore going higher would mean giving up more picks. Let's not forget that this is a very speculative scenario. No GM in the league would put a target on their back like that.
