Could probably do something like Miller and a second/third, maybe a prospect too

IF TBL were to get Panarin somehow...I think a 3rd team would have to be involved. They'd have to ask either Stralman or Coburn to provide their list of teams AND then one of the other teams will have to eat a bunch of salary. I'm not sure the benefit would out weight the cost. I don't see TBL wanting to shed long term contracts like JT Miller. He's part of longer term plans I'm sure. I could see a 3rd party getting involved like the Brassard deal where Vegas ate 40% of his cap hit. AND it would probably be more than what Brassard got...1st rounder, 3rd rounder, and A Prospect. Which TB doesn't have so think Coburn, Taylor Raddysh, Cal Foote.

***EDIT*** I guess maybe technically if TBL were to pay enough...both of the other teams could eat 50%...right? So Panarin's cap hit would be $1.5M? ($6M * 50% * 50%...$1.5M) I'm not sure that wouldn't be viewed as cap circumvention, but the NHL has allowed dumber things. Again though, steep price I'm sure.

***EDIT EDIT*** Coburn or Stralman would be flipped for additional picks to CBJ in the hypothetical.

The Jackets would need to maximize the return as much as possible. Miller has had a bit of a down year, not bad but slightly down. So assuming Tampa moves him, the Jackets would want at least two very good prospects, and obviously Tampa's 1st. But because of Tampa's condition on their 1st this year, the Jackets may want another prospect instead. I would say probably Miller, Alex Barré-Boulet, Carter Verhaeghe, and Taylor Raddysh

The philosophy has always been do not trade for rentals. SY is no longer the GM but I think this philosophy remains. The price to obtain would be steep and the chance of resigning slim. We have cap issues. But it would make for a great top six.

IF Tampa somehow finds a way to add Panarin, I may **** my pants. Probably going to be one of the best teams every assembled and should win the cup lol.

That being said, I find it VERY unlikely. If the rumors are true and Florida is all in on him and Bob AND are willing to include Huberdeau in the deal, I don't think many teams could top that.

Probably a roster player (for cap), could be Miller, Palat or Johnson, with a prospect (Foote, Katchouk, Raddysh)), and 2020 picks (1st, 2nd, and late rounder)
