Description
What better way to start a rebuild than trading your starting goalie? Answer, none.
The Jackets are involved if they are trading Bobrovsky, and the Flames and Flyers both have been in the news about trying to acquire one. So, here are my offers...what says you?
FYI - keep in mind Dubnyk is only owed $6mil over the last 2 years of his contract.

Why Flyers would trade to get Dubnik, when a top prospect like Hart is playing like a beast? The kid is their future and such trade makes no sense at all to them.

CGY politely declines. Andersson just too valuable.

Out of our D prospects I think Phat Rass might be the most untouchable! He's really solidified himself in our power play and can carry a pairing with whoever he plays with. The value above is not far off and obviously addresses Calgary's need, I just think at this point Phat Rass would take a severe over payment!

What would be needed (in your opinion) from the Wild to make this trade work? Keep in mind, Belpidio is no throw in. He's a good prospect who is probably ready for the NHL next year.

Having an inexpensive vet like Dubnyk split games with Hart for the next 2+ years is not a bad idea at all...which is why I think the Flyers are (as reported) currently trying to acquire Cam Talbot...

I would say at this point there’s a better chance of getting Hanifin from Calgary than Andersson

Andersson
2021 2nd

for

Dubnyk
Belpido
Stall (Pure Rental)

This in no way means my valuation is correct, it's just kind of where I would like to see a trade for Andersson

Well Talbot has been Hart's mentor recently so I think that is why we want Talbot over Dubnyk. Plus Talbot will be even less expensive.

Only by $200,000...plus the 2 extra years of Dubnyk's contract. But, I do believe it makes total sense to have a good veteran goalie to share the net with Hart for 2 years. Goalies are weird (my son is one) and they can find it and lose it many, many times before they are ready for the full-time rigors of NHL goaltending duties!

Sorry I should have specified. The Flyers plan on signing Talbot beyond this year.

Maybe...but I still think Hart should be their top goalie to make his growth even faster . And a goalie like Dubnyk would take his spot. On the other hand, I admit having an veteran goalie like Dubnyk spliting games with him could help his development as well. Like Murray's case spliting games with Flower. It'd depend of how much Flyers would have to spend to get Dubnyk...if I were their GM, I wouldn't spend so much to get another goalie. For example, I wouldn't trade one of my top players or prospects. They could get Ryan Miller or Varlamov in FA for 2 seasons. I think it'd be a better move from them. I'd go with Miller. He's a 38 and still a very good vet goalie who could help Hart's game a lot.

I'd go with Ryan Miller in FA for 2 seasons. He'd be a great mentor to Hart. He's a great leader and a very professional player. Besides, he's still playing on a high level.

But Talbot is playing like garbage and Flyers would have to make a trade to get him. Miller would be a FA acquisition and he's playing much better than Talbot. That counts a lot, in my opinion. And if they wait to get Talbot in FA as well, I still think Miller have better qualities than Talbot. As I said, I'd go with RM anyway.

Miller hasn't played since Dec. and Talbot doesn't need to be fantastic, that is what Hart is there for. The familiarity between them is worth more. And the trade for Talbot means nothing as we are likely to get something back, not have to give something up other than Elliott.

Not that the Flames would give Hanifin away it’s just that’s how solid Andersson has been for a rookie

Well, Talbot for Stolarz was a little steal. You guys gave nothing to get Talbot. Chiarelli is one of the worst GM of the league and he proves that again. He should ask for a middle pick plus Stolarz.
