No, keep Gourde and send Miller packing. He has too many bad plays.

Guarantee Tampa fans will be saying the same thing about Gourde next year when he has a full NTC on a 6x5 deal

TB will likely move Miller and Callahan (they will likely retain half his salary), which will free up over 8 million against the cap. I can make a post and tag you in it if you'd like to see how it'd work, but I would assume that is their plan. Callahan has a 16 team trade list, so I am sure TB will find a team.

I'm aware of what's most likely to happen, just suggesting alternatives.

If you don't think Callahan loaded up that 16 team list with the teams that are least likely to afford him, you're not thinking straight.

He probably will put NYR down, and probably Buffalo because he's from Rochester and still owns property there. I am sure he will put down the other teams that would not have interest in him, but I would not be surprised if he goes to the Sabres. They may be looking for more leadership on a young team, and he comes off the next year. Plus, I would assume Tampa would reward them for taking on at least half of the contract.

You missed my point. Callahan has no desire to leave a team that is about to win a cup. He'll put all the teams that won't want him (Toronto, Winnipeg, San Jose, etc.) on his list to ensure he's in a place to contend

Totally understand what you are saying, but it's certainly possible he lists teams close to home (Rochester). We will see.
