Flip Stone and Duchene and it makes a little more sense. Especially as Stone would likely stay in Winnipeg. If we can somehow land Vesalainen and Niku for Stone, we'd only get a 1st if he signed. So Vesa+Niku+Conditional 2nd (1st if he signs) for Stone+Harpur

The asking prices are too high for true rentals IMO. Historical deadline values would suggest a first rounder and a decent prospect OR a blue chip prospect and a later pick for Stone and Duchene. Dzingel nets the Sens a decent prospect and a late pick or a second rounder and a long-shot prospect.

I have to agree with this but Stone and Duchene are unlike any other rentals we have seen in a long time. Who was the last elite, in thier prime rental? Eric Staal in 2013? Stasny got the best return last year, a 1st, B prospect and a late rounder. Think the market stays around there? Or does Ston and Duchene turn that rounder into another roster player or B prospect? Wait and see

The Islanders would have no need for Ceci as we are currently carrying 8 healthy D men with 3 more experienced guys in the AHL. The Only Needs the Islanders would spend assets on at this point is a top 6 center or sniper (Prefer RW)

This. The Stasny comparison is good as it was just last year. Stasny had 40 in 63 GP (0.63 p/g) at the deadline, Stone has 61 in 59 (1.03) and Duchene 58 in 50 (1.16). So they should get significantly more.

I am trying to be unbiased, but based on that, I really don't think it's unreasonable to ask for a blue chipper and a 1st with maybe an extra piece as a sweetner.

This price is also before any bidding war (I don't think think many teams were in on Stasny as the Blues were in a playoff spot and no one thought he was available).

I agree. I see Stone going to Winnipeg more than NSH. And I agree with MelnykOut, Vesa+Niku+Conditional 2nd (1st if he signs) for Stone.

With regards to the return for Duchene, thinking more around the lines of 1st + Tolvonen + something like a 4th Rnd pick or something.

Don't think NYI are interested in a guy like Ceci, even if the Sens cover 50% of his salary. I don;t think ANYONE will bite on Ceci. Firstly, Dorion over values him and will ask too much which will scare away buyer. Secondly, he is RFA and to qualify him it will cost similar salary (even if it goes to arbitration). No one will pay Ceci more than 2.5M per year.

For Dzingel, I'm thinking a 1st and a B Prospect is about right. I think your value there is bang on. If Sens retain salary this is definitely something they (CGY) would accept.

Although not impossible to fathom SJ to want to shore up their goal tending for the playoffs... I really don't think Anderson will be targeted. I have my money on Elliot for SJ. Or even Talbot if PHI retains salary. Could easily ask for a 2nd rnd pick in exchange.
