That's not a good Gus trade. I understand the whole...Boqvist is playing well and going to be up soon so we can trade Gus, but CHI can just get soo much more for him than (2) 3rds and Tobias Rider. I'd rather just keep Gus right now and use him! If Muzzin can get a late 1st rounder and a solid 2nd round prospect...Gus can get AT LEAST the 1st alone. It's arguable if he can do better or worse than the additional promising prospect...Depends on the other team's needs I guess. Gus is better offensively than Muzzin AND definitely costs less, but Gus isn't as good defensively. I still think MTL should trade for him because him next to Shea Weber would be awesome.

Perlini and JP have similar stories and similar values. I do agree / admit the edge in value goes to JP, but it's an edge in value...not a 1st or 2nd rounder in value. For the record I would do a Perlini JP swap and provide a little bit more to EDM because I think they both could use a change of scenery and CHI gets the slight advantage in upside.

Do you thing Dahlstrom and Perlini for JP would be fair?

I would do that from the CHI perspective. I think both EDM and CHI might prefer Forsling though. Forsling has played a bunch of NHL games and last year for a decent stretch he was a SOLID 2nd pair LD. He hasn't regained that form this year and it's hard to get NHL ice time on this team right now as a Dman. A change of scenery could help both. I posted a team a little bit ago posing this same thing. There are clearly a few guys that are on the outside looking in. Forsling/Perlini/Forsberg/ and even Chad Krys IMO. He's the tth ranked D prospect out of 5 highly ranked d prospects.

A top-pairing defenseman for another young LHD we don't need and a depth center? No thanks.

Yes, Murray is top-pairing. He's reasserted his status in that regard this year.

That's the Million Dollar Question. Stan has been public with needing to be WOW'd with an offer. I don't think a deal will get done between the two at all. The required haul won't be what MTL would be willing to give. The way I look at it is...Gus is a sure thing for offensive ability @ $1.2M for (2) playoff runs. MTL has a horrendous power play and Gus would be their PP QB from day 1. The 2019 1st rounder is automatic and not close to enough to get it done. I think a Muzzin type return is what it would take, but I do think Stan would need to send a 2nd piece to MTL to even the deal out...unlike what LAK had to do. AGAIN MTL WON'T DO THIS, but I would think it would take Alexander Romanov and the 2019 1st for Gus and Chad Krys. From the CHI side...1st rounder and an upgrade for LD prospects...from the MTL side...Sure thing PP QB and a possible puck moving Dman Replacement. I might see Romanov being swapped for Ylonen, but that doesn't make as much sense positionally speaking.
