Two moves away

Created by: canes2006
Team: 2018-19 Boston Bruins
Initial Creation Date: Feb. 19, 2019
Published: Feb. 19, 2019
Salary Cap Mode: Basic
Description
The Bruins can afford to give up these kind of deals because of the wealth they have in their prospect pool. They’d leave these deals with Heinen, Donato, Fitzgerald, Fredric, Studnicka, Vaak, Celharik and Lauko still in their possession. Sure we’d be giving up many draft picks, but you’re picking up three of the most coveted pieces of the deadline. Look at the forward depth, talk about three scoring lines now. This is a cup team.

Three straight years without a first? No thank you. Also that wealth of prospects you spoke of? You moved most of them. Pump the brakes

So We’re trading away the farm, not drafting for 2 years, a little over a million over the cap, and have no real way to resign everyone. Top notch

This team can compete. If we’re going to always sit back because there’s a better team, have a fire sale and start from scratch. They have a team to compete, this team happy can win. In 2011, Canucks were better, Lighting was better, even the flyers were arguably better. The bruins went for the win with Pevs, Kells, Kaberle, and gave up a lot in the process (Blake fckn Wheeler), but it was worth it for the cup.

Bruins prospect pool is not nearly as deep or as strong as Bruins fans think it is.

When TB knocks B’s out in 2nd round and Panarin and Duchesne walk via FA you will have set the franchise back 5 years for nothing.

Backes will never waive for Ottawa. Sens decline anyway.

What moves do you suggest because this team won’t win the cup, and neither will it next year or the year after...

They are currently 3rd in the Presidents trophy standings despite a slew of injuries and almost no production from the 3rd line. They can play with anyone as is.

What they need is to stay healthy, A 3rd line C and RW, does not have to be a star, just soiid player. Coyle, Brassard, Sifverberg, Dzingel come to mind. And most importantly to play their best hockey when it matters. The Cup is about timimg, health, desire, chemistry, and luck. Caps were an afterthought going into the playoffs last year. Going all in for 1 year is just poor asset management.
