Well Skinner seems to love playing in BUF and has a full NMC so I don't see it as being a viable option. Unless he tells BUF that he will 100% sign with them in the offseason.

To all below, agree that Skinner would be awesome for the Flames. What do you think of the value for the trade?

Just BC he has a NMc doesnt mean he won't get traded to Calgary. One of the top teams in the league. Good chance for a cup.

For a rental, it's a good haul (if he guarantees BUF he will resign with them as a UFA)

he vetod multiple trades out to the West prior to the his trade to Buffalo as he wanted to be as close as possible to his home in Toronto. If he waives it again, its for an East time IMO, I dont see him going out west

How many times I've read Kovalchuk wasn't going out west and that he was going to sign with rangers or some eastern conference team. Then signs with la. I'll never put anything out of the realm of possibility. Or any player wasn't going to go this place and then end up there.

He signed in LA bc they over paid to live in LA and they were always in the mix and an option for him. So I dont see your point on using Kovy here.
Nothing is impossible but Skinner vetod deals to LA, Colorado, confirmed with rumoured to be others out west. He seems deadset on being out East and he has earned his NMC to do so, I dont see him changing his stance now

It's called an example , If you missed the point. Doesn't matter if they over paid. Still did the thing people said he had no interest in. But I'm not going on and on about one point about a hypothetical situation. I don't wanna see Calgary get him .. don't think I'm saying he has to come to the west.

Great player fills that second line role perfectly, the way that the Flames are vibing right now would worry me about bringing him in, just after all the off season drama in Carolina and hearing that he and Peters don't necessarily see eye to eye.

you are missing the point....you are saying you read he was going to sign out East when LA was always an option and target for him and he signed to a place he wanted to sign with from teh get go...I dont see how you are making a point here, He was always linked to LA and he signed in LA

I get what you are saying but LA and Kovy isnt the right example to use
