If Anisimov is going to be moved, I would fully expect it to happen in the summer. His Modified-NTC lifts on July 1st and there won’t be any more restrictions on his contract after that.

I believe that they wouldn't either, however, look into it more. Brown is on a 2 year deal worth 2.1 per year, while they are deep in cap hell. Kunitz is a very experienced player, good for the young guns, and on a cheaper 1mil for 1 year. Brown's contract would be up in 2 years, just in time for when Cat and Strome have to be paid, and the Leafs to use that extra 3mill to sign their players to sign their players.

You easily trade Brown in the offseason for a pick. I would rather Brown for the playoffs as he can move up and down the lineup when needed. Kunitz is to slow.
