I keep seeing trades like this Laine is one of the purest goal scorers in the league and you're trading that a first for 3 ufas that at best you can sign 1 of and the others walk? do jets fans actually think their window is closing and that there is not more years to come? don't get me wrong this would be a horse of a team this year

Winnipeg loses bad, you give up Laine, Vesalainen, and a 1st for Stone (whomever signs him will regret it, hes the next Okposo) and a 2nd. No money to sign Duchene nor Dzingel especially after giving Stone 9

JR, as in Jeremy Roenick? Because that is hilarious. Roenick isn't a journalist, he doesn't have ties to the Jets, and he is about as famous for running his mouth as he is for scoring. Gonna have to do better than that as the argument that Laine wants out.

Yeah, to Roenick's credit he does actually have some articles listed online. He wrote a memoir about how he faked his death one time back in the day, he wrote a guide for how to watch hockey for new fans, and he wrote an article about how Oshie partied at a charity golf tournament post-Stanley Cup. If we're actually calling that serious journalism then I picked the wrong field to study.

He's about as much serious journalist and hockey insider, as I am a serious basketball player. I'm not. I just show up at the community center once in a while and play some ball.

I'll clarify what I find hilarious, because I'm not really laughing at the notion you believe that Laine's on the move because of what JR says. (Although that's chuckle-worthy too.)

It is absolutely hilarious imagining the world where Roenick breaks the biggest hockey-trade story in recent memory before McKenzie, Dreger, Wiebe, anyone at TSN, Sportsnet, or anywhere remotely good at reporting hockey. It's the equivalent of Charles Barkley breaking an NBA trade before Woj.

If Winnipeg did this, they'd likely win it this year.
But at least 2 of the 3 would be rentals.
Bold vision, heavy consequences.
Well done..-~

Stone maybe, Duchene isn't happening he's linked to Columbus and Nashville. And Laine is younger and still better then Mark Stone he will improve. This would be bad for Winnipeg as Stone will command every bit as much money as Laine would command and possibly even more.

I didnt say he was on the move I said thats the word about his ego and contract. Im also way more likely to trust a former NHLer, who knows the kids agent and has way more of an inside track, than theceltics opinion
