Avoiding the NYR NTC TRAGEDY

Created by: KUUUCH
Team: 2019-20 Tampa Bay Lightning
Initial Creation Date: Feb. 21, 2019
Published: Feb. 21, 2019
Salary Cap Mode: Basic
Description
I love both mcdonagh and miller, but the NTC situation is only worse with their contracts in the mix. I know it doesn't look good for players to arrive, sign contracts, and leave in such a short span, but this may be necessary for the best future for the franchise.

While we're at it....how about you *EDIT: trade* (I wrote "s. h. i. p." but the capfriendly thought I wrote "s. h. i. t." sorry for the misunderstanding) Tyler Johnson or Ondrej Palat to sign Mark Stone at a 6M contract on July 1st

You really think Callaghan's M NTC, includes a trade to Edmonton? Really?shakes head . His 5.8m cap hit certainly gets a big return as a sweetener. Gourde and Allen are the prime trade candidates as you suggest. Interesting CBJ trade. That's unique with some merit.

Because I only traded players that don't have a NTC. And also, players sign for less if the team is a contender like Tampa, and the tax benefit is just more reason.

I agree, anyone who takes callahan will want a decent piece in return, and that's fine I'd trade a first along with him if that's what it'd take.

EDIT (I wrote " s h i p " but Capfriendly saw it as " s * * t ") that's why there was a **** in my previous comment

Anyway..i gotta agree theres the tax benefit in Tampa. Even if you consider this benefit, Karlsson should get more than 7,875 M. (Ill say 9M-9.5M) There's no way hes getting less than Hedman and Stamkos. Both Bolts signed their contract couple years ago.

Yea I wasn't sure what the "****" meant lol I figured you meant "ship", "dump", "flip" or something.

And I'm glad you can at least acknowledge the tax benefit (unlike some others who are in straight denial lol), but it'll be interesting to see what Karlsson would take. I think 7.875m (hedman's exact salary) would be acceptable for him. As of 2018-19, there's only 3 dmen in the NHL getting paid 8m or more. Starting in 2019-20, there will be 5 dmen making 8m +. Considering that Hedman just won the Norris, and the fact that EK65 is friends with Heddy and a bunch of the other bolts, as well as the Cup Contender factor, I'd be shocked if a potential extra 1-2m is gonna convince him to play elsewhere. But we will see! EK65 may not even be an option depending on how the trade deadline goes.
