Detroit laugh At that offer, No way Detroit retains half of Nyquist without the Caps 2019 1st round pick coming back. For the last time Detroit doesn't need Burakovsky coming back we've no need for him. Our interest would be in Bowey only not Burakovsky.

What the big deal about retention? It's only for this season, a quarter of the season, certainly isn't hurting the Wings cap next year as both players are UFAs.
A 2nd and 3rd for Jensen is fair, and Burakovsky seems fair. Burakosky has been playing very well lately. Now I understand the desire for Bowey, but certainly the offer is fair.

Because Detroit has no use for more wingers, Detroit like Winnipeg has far too many wingers. Like Winnipeg needs a #2C Detroit needs D prospects. Only going by what the Detroit media is saying Nyquist with retention brings back a 1st rounder period. Detroit has a deal in place with all 3 UFAs Howard, Jensen and Nyquist if we don't get our ask then we just resign all 3 by Sunday. Not saying it's not fair. Only saying that Holland wouldn't accept this he wants to ink all 3 players.

Just for long term value for the Wings, I wonder if the Wings still might sign Howard and Nyquist, but still trade them for assets and then sign then as UFAs July 1st. It's not like those two players are going to get 8 years contract which is the only leverage a team has "holding their eight year rights". Jensen I could see been locked up before hitting UFA.

I think that's the plan? I know our beat writers have said that deals are in place with all 3 players Howard, Jensen and Nyquist. I know Holland really wants to ink Howard and Nyquist 50/50 with Jensen depends on his asking price. But it sounds like if Holland doesn't get his asking price on all 3 he'll sign all 3 by Sunday.

Yeah I have to agree. Bura isn't attractive for detroit. They want a first or they want good defensive prospects. I hope they move nyquist before kenny gives him 6.5 million for like 6 years like you know he will. Id rather keep Jensen sign him cheap and howard.

Detroit needs alot of things and taking on a bigger faster younger wing (and a RFA to boot) at a much lower cap hit isnt a bad gamble considering detroit is two years (or more) away from contending and Nyquist will never be better then he is right now. So if they could him and a pick sounds like a big win for detroit.(especially since they will probably resign him in the summer anyways)
