really?...Rangers would laugh us off the phone with this offer.

I like Bracco and can see him playing 4th line minutes next year....but he's not exactly projecting as much more than a 3rd line winger in the future. I'd avoid including him in any trades because we need that ELC on the roster in the near future...but as far as this trade goes...it really doesn't have a significant piece the Rangers would consider moving Kreider for.

I don't think that was accomplished in this trade. McQuaid is apparently available for a 3rd or 4th depending on demand.

Remember last trade deadline when Toronto fans thought Brown+Rasanen+1st was too much for Mcdonagh. That's kinda what this is.

Don't get me wrong, I love Kreider's game. His combination of speed, hands, grit and toughness would definitely benefit the Leafs in a playoff series with Boston and beyond (hopefully). Ridding the Leafs of the Zaitsev's long term deal is another plus of your proposed trade. My concern is that, like Muzzin, you are getting a player that has only 1.5 years remaining on a deal. So, although Kreider isn't really a rental, he is also the sort of the player that the Leafs would never be able to resign considering all their upcoming RFAs they need to resign. Additionally, I think Brown doesn't get dealt until the offseason. He is one of the few Leafs that plays a solid defensive game, skates hard and kills penalties.

As a side note, I highly doubt the Rangers would make the deal, at least in terms of what you've proposed.
