Nick Jensen will sign for much more than that.

Pearson doesn't have the same value as Jeff Skinner

Pens aren't getting any semblance of value in return for Johnson

Maatta would be worth more than that

If Nick Jensen signs for that little, He'll stay in Detroit. Probably closer to 3 x 3 or 3 x 3.5 give or take.

You're delusional if you think anyone is giving up assets for Johnson.

that Ottawa deal is bad for Pittsburgh, not Ottawa. Not giving up a prospect and a 1st just to get rid of Johnson. His contract is bad but not THAT bad. They can bury him in the minors if they really wanted a bit of cap relief, or trade him for another teams bad contract. Or if they did pay somebody to take him off their hands it would be most likely a mid round pick type situation depending on the team.

as for the other deals
Pearson isn't worth quite as much as that

Maatta is worth a bit more than that

Kessel maybe worth slightly more than that as well

Not sure if Florida would want Simon for much in general. Although he is on a cheap contract so maybe.

Pearson would net probably a 3rd, maybe a 2nd at most.
There is no way we are getting out of the JJ contract and no way any team gives up that much for a late 1st, a B prospect, while taking on that bad contract. If they want to get to the cap floor, they will go after Zetterberg or Hossas contract for much cheaper. If they want a bad contract that can actually play, they can just sign a guy to a 1 year deal worth a lot more than he is worth. Maatta and Kessel could pull in more than that. Simon is about right and I think Florida could be a good place for them as Simon is a middle 6 winger that Florida could use.

they don't need a 1st to get rid of JJ.
A team like Ottawa or the Rangers will be more than happy to take a player who hits to reach the cap floor. Especially considering Ottawa will be fielding an AHL level team next year.
They just need to package him with a player like Jugs who has value and off he goes.
