Marleau will probably retire after his contract with the leafs and timashov will probably be the fourth line LW even if marleau doesn’t retire not worth offering $2 million for a year that’s cap space we could use for the deadline

I do think your going to have to pay for someone to take Zaitsev. Is a pick or a prospect worth moving $4.5M of the books for the next 5yrs after this year?

Marleau is fading right now, he won't be NHLer in 2020/21 maybe not next year. No to Gauthier and I don't think the Leafs are in position to out bid teams for Faulk and Muzzin, and maybe there is better value elsewhere.

So given that Marner is signed for 8 years here, I have to assume he signed a 1 year bridge too. If he puts up another year similar to the one he’s having now, an 8 year deal will be in the teens
