If the Leafs were to give up their young prospects, Liljeggren and Sandin are the last ones they would trade away.

Too much for Kreider. Swap out Horton/Liljegren with Bracco.

Is Kreider worth a 3 firsts? Kapanen = 1st+, Liljegren = 1st.

I think not.

Nah Kreider deal is close to Pacioretty deal, but because he's younger/cheaper/healthier etc it's a 1st instead of 2nd. So Top prospect + top 6 guy with term and 1st.

To be fair, Pacioretty as of now is cheaper than Kreider. Of course, his new contract that starts at July 1st is sure more expensive, but when Pacioretty was traded, his cap hit was actually smaller than Kreider's.

Furthermore, Kreider is going to be in a same situation than Pacioretty in just 1,5 years.

Also Kreider has only one season when he has scored 50+ points, whilst Pacioretty has several seasons he has scored over 60+ points.

I just don't see any facts why Kreider would have any more value than Pacioretty had when he was traded, especially if they don't trade him now. They both even had similar kind of seasons with 37 points last year, so it's not like Kreider was any better when Pacioretty was considered to have the worst season of his career. If he hasn't been moved at the deadline, his value should dramatically drop. Just like with Pacioretty's value did.

You're better than just being able to look at counting points as opposed to looking at the rates right? You do know that Kreider matched Patches point total in 300 less minutes right? So yeah he was MUCH better than Patches last year. But also has basically an identical stat line with superior on ice numbers for the past 4 years.

In the 2 years before being (hypothetically for Kreider) traded:
Pacioretty: 2093 mins 0.92 Goals/60 1.83 Points/60
Kreider: 1595 mins 0.98 Goals/60 2.14 Points/60

So yes he's younger, equally productive and instead of being traded coming off an injury plagued season, he's being traded coming off perhaps the best year of his career ---you pay extra for that.
