I wonder if green would waive to go home to calgary, det would have to retain but may be a interesting place for green and help the red mile get going

If I remember correctly the Leafs had a trade in place for Green last year at the deadline, but he refused to waive his NTC.

Last year he only approved Tampa and Washington. He likes Detroit and only approved teams he thought would make it all the way. I don't think it was anything to do with Toronto except he didn't think they'd win the cup last year. I think he would waive for Toronto this year. But I doubt Toronto wants him this year because he has a year left after this year and it would further complicate their cap navigation this summer. Plus Toronto has been pretty adamant about keeping Liljegren.

I've been told by multiple people on here that apparently he doesnt want to play for calgary.

Whole career in east, might want to stay there, but he actually doesn’t look like a bad fit with flames with the right amount of retained money

Yeah i agree, he's a pretty good fit for the flames. Green/Howard package, **** maybe even a green/nyquist/howard package, they could really use all 3.
