Yes it’s a “contract spot” but it’s just for the duration of the season.

Smith has outplayed Chris Gibson in Bridgeport this year, at least in the minds of LL (and the stats, limited as they are, near it out).

It provides a legit 3rd or 4th option in net as Soderstrom is currently on loan and the only other goalie is in junior.
