That is no where close to getting Krieder as he has one more left in his contract.

NOOOOOO!!!!!!

Adding Kreider means losing Kapanen or Johnsson in the off season. Especially since I doubt the Rags will want to pay any portion of his contract.

In my opinion, I think the price for Kreider would be either Johnsson or Kapanen, the 2020 second round pick (maybe with a chance to turn into a first) and a "cap dump" like Brown or Zaitsev. If I'm New York, I definitely want one of the young guys back and Toronto definitely won't be able to keep everyone if they bring in Kreider. He'd be a good fit in Toronto though

I did an ACGM yesterday with Brown, Johnsson, and Zaitsev for Kreider and McQuaid. Do you think that gets it done? maybe add a pick or two somewhere. https://www.capfriendly.com/armchair-gm/team/1053820

God no. Zaitsev is a dump that will cost roughly a 1st for a team to take on his contract for 4 more years, Johnson is a middle 6 winger, brown a top 9 center. NYR wont be moving unless Toronto overpay and kap and 1st and a prospect is to start talks for Krieder and the fact nyr wont move him unless its too good of an offer to refuse. So we are talking kap 1st and either lil or sandin for krieder.

It's not that Leafs fans want to get rid of Brown (Personally I'm a big fan) but there isn't really room for him in the top 9 and the sense is that someone making $1M less could fulfill a similar role on the fourth line. Small savings but it gives Dubas just a little more wiggle room next year.

You traded him away and the other guy said he was a "cap dump" and associated him with Zaitsev, so I thought there was something Leafs fans knew that I wasn't aware of. If it's just to shave cap space, I'd find it elsewhere. I think Brown's a solid middle 6'er and you need that kind of depth. If you're putting Kreider into your top 6, move a top 6'er out (Hyman? Or Kapanen if you aren't going to be able to re-sign him, but you can do that in the off-season since he's an RFA).
It's not like Kreider is going to bring your 3.5+ G/PG much higher, you're just redistributing the production you already have and maybe improving in other areas or altering the team dynamic.

I looked at your idea and I like it. Leafs may have to add a second rounder maybe, but the value is there. Both teams are getting what they need

you want a 1st line winger with all around package at a 4.6m cap for 2 years you will have to pay the price otherwise nyr will be fine keeping him in the rebuild

Any team that payed that price would be total morons, Kreider ain't worth that much.

Once again nyr stated they want a great offer and if a team will not pay it they wont move him its that simple they want him as possible captain for next year and for the rebuild.
