Sorry for bragging, but I have been commenting in threads for weeks that Hayes would yield a first, a "prospect," and a conditional pick.

I will admit I thought it would not be lemieux and the conditional pick would be different, but man it feels good to be right.

I wouldnt say hes a prospect, hes an NHLer. Probably just a bottom 6 guy but hes a good one with upside. Might not be the flashing Top 6 talent young fowrard or Top 4 D Prospect you were hoping for, but guys like Baby Claude dont grow on trees

I was hoping for one extra so/so piece, but I'm reasonably happy with the deal. Couple of cheap, cost controlled assets, plus Bob Murray's draft record speaks for itself. Hurts to say, but hoping to lose enough to get Kakko or Podkolzin.

Avs 1st and Shane Bowers was my max value I would want to see give up. That fits with that value too.
