In my opinion, Brown is better than Glendening, but Glendening plays the more highly sought position, so unsure about that deal. I know that Glendening will be an upgrade over Gauthier, but I really think we need Brown for these playoffs, unless he can help net us a top-4 defenseman like Collin Miller. Not really a fan of the Wild trade, and they would decline on a player who is currently out with a concussion and no immediately timetable set for a return date.

How so? Gardiner is arguably the 4th best LHD on the team and will walk asa UFA in the spring. Kadri is a #2 offensive C who is miscast as a shutdown 3rd line player making 4.5 mil. Spurgeon is a #1-2 and is arguably better than Reilly. Glendening and Foligno provide needed grit and shutdown acumen, and both have term, both, both for the same price as Kadri alone. Leafs stregthen their top four D and their bottom 6. But, yes,...somehow thats worse.

Gardiner is a slightly worse Spurgeon but LH, losing a solid 2C on a good contract that supplies most of the teams grit is a huge loss for now and less so next year. Glendening is overpaid and by almost all accounts, terrible.
