It's definitely a nice attempt @Davisoc to try and bring a little more peace, respect and harmony to Leafs fans and people on this site, overall. I honestly am not sure it will work because the Leafs are just such a hated team that this stigma, it seems, automatically moves to its fan. Totally unfair, but it will always happen.

In the case of the trade specifically, you have made an excellent point. In the case of Manson, I have been firm from the get-go that even with his term and AAV, a 2nd rounder, good prospect and perhaps a conditional pick should do it. Consider Montour is better and younger than Manson, no way the Leafs give up the sort of high draft pick and high prospect the Sabres did.

Is justification the word you were looking for?

A first and a real good prospect. The equivalent of that probably would have been a first and Liljegren. Liljegren is a slightly better prospect, but the pick is going to be worse than the one Anaheim got

It all depends where you stand. Nylander was a a stretch because of his bonus, but Anahiem probably asked for the moon because of the situation, you need for a defenseman. They took a 1st which could be in the top 12 over a late round 1st and a good prospect. You would have had to better the offer, your 1st is in the high 20's so a better prospect would have had to be dealt.

It is a relative, higher pick better prospect, lower pick, lesser prospect, but as I say, everyone knew Leafs were looking at adding on the backend, so why not ask for more, worse case they say no and you move on.

Nah man, Leaf fans justice because of guys like you. You can try and turn this around as much as you want but you are one of the people that said Nylander plus plus. Nylander is a proven NHLer not a prospect. The point still stands that this deadline is proving half of this site wrong!

It takes a special fan base to miss out on a player (Montour), and then still come on here and brag about it. Calling people "haters" and "trolls", and then asking for "less drama". That's not ironic at all...

Please allow us to take solace knowing that, despite the extremely talented ACGM's from the greatest fan base on earth, we still get to watch Ron Hainsey and Nikita Zaitsev for 20+ minutes a night.
