same player, except Karlsson is a righty and 2 years younger while Dahlen is a lefty?

odd time of year to shuffle minor leaguers but I guess the Canucks probably are hoping to making a run at the Calder cup

Karlsson is unsigned. At least he is a prospect. I doubt Dahlen can make the jump to the NHL. He did great in the Allvenskan but needs a lot more seasoning.

Reading that Dahlen's agent was requested a trade. Probably trade now before this could become a more glaring issue

Sharks have Ties with Dahlen’s father Ulf. He played for the Sharks in the 90’s. They figure maybe he can produce in the AHL with the solid squad they have down there.

Wonder if Dahlen will be exposed in the expansion draft and end up in Seattle in a few years

Dahlen would've been exposed in the expansion draft. He also wanted out, Karlsson doesn't have to be protected. Win-Win for Vancouver.

it's been two years since this trade and I still have no idea what to think of it.

Only took them three years but VAN finally signed Karlsson to a contract.
