I have:
CGY
SJS
VGK
WPG
NSH
STL
Stars
Avs
If this is true, I see SJS, CGY, WPG, and NSH moving on.
After this, WPG and SJS
Then SJS
Probably plays against Tampa Bay from the East, and I would love to see either of them win it. Both are very deep and very high-level talent teams, but both are going to be partially dismantled next year for the cap crunch, so it's gonna be really interesting
I think the jets beat SJ based on 5 reasons:
1. We have 2 1st lines a 2nd and a possession line. Matchups will be really difficult for teams because all of the lines are good defensively and have the ability to score.
2. Jets pp is lethal (more than SJ) now with both units producing again
3. Even if the jets aren’t playing well they can get by purely based on skill and SJ has been victim to that already
4. Jets are faster and can play anyway you want (cycle, rush...)
5. Helleybuck has found his Vezina form again while jones has still not found his
6. My personal favourite, Laine is back.
Even with SJ’s adds, I think the jets are more talented and if they can pull it all together (they haven’t been playing well recently but shouldn’t be a problem in the playoffs) they could win it all. However if something goes wrong like bad play, a tiring series with Nashville, major injury, etc SJ would win. It will be tight but I think the jets win
