Why is he taking a pay cut after the last three seasons he's had? He could have gotten 5 or 6 million in free agency, easily. Maybe more.

Because they were going to trade him but he publicly said that he really doesn't want to play anywhere else than in Minnesota. If he was after the money would he say something like that?

This is a MIN friendly contract! E. Staal is enjoying his time for the Wild and keeps producing, but that AAV is low for his production and team contribution.

We are in cap hell no longer. With the work Fenton has done we are in a good spot and can actually bring in some new blood that might be able to win a playoff series.

solid job troll!! Obviously we the Rask deal and the Zucc signing hadn't happened yet we had no idea how terrible Fenton was at the time and neither did the wild Brass.
