Re-sigings 2019

Description
I could see them Trading Braun/Dillon in order to bring up some proven D prospects as well. Pavelski would take a tiny pay cut, he’s planted roots here and wouldn’t want to go anywhere especially since he’s getting up there in age. If Thornton wants to stick around and feels good about continuing his career I could see him signing another 1 year deal for less to help sign RFA’s like Meier and Labanc to bridge deals. It’s really all circumstantial, depending on what happens in the 2019 Playoffs. But if I was Doug this is what I would look for as far as re-signings and cap issues are concerned.

The Karlsson and Nyquist signings are way too low, Karlsson will want at least 7 x 11.5 or 8 x 11.5 and Nyquist is asking for at least 5 x 6. No way Nyquist signs in San Jose for less then what he's currently making now.

That’s the thing, if you read my Explination at the top it highlights all of that. Sharks don’t want Karlsson for that much, it’s really not worth it, they’re better off Sigining him and Trading at that price point. As for Nyquist, the guy is a good 3rd liner but he’s only put up 50 points once or twice in his career, never netted 30 goals either.. @30 years old past his prime this is the neighborhood in which the Sharks would be willing to re-sign him for.. if not he can walk and make 6M on a bottom dweller team all he wants.

Karlsson, nyquist and Pavelski. you can't keep all of them. If pavelski scores 40 goals he's not taking a discount to stay.
