Description
I didnt really know what I was doing here. I think Urho will be ready to make the jump next year, idk about top pair minutes with him tho. He could interchange with Chara.

For the Krug trade I think we get a center in Steel who has good potential, and the Ducks get a really good puck moving defenseman which is an area that they lack. Ducks would obviously have to be off of Krugs list which I have no idea if they would be or not. We also make up the pick we lost to dump Backes with.

I didn't really know who to sign to fill in the top 6 role. Heinen's looked really good with Marchy/Bergy so maybe thats something that doesn't happen this summer but I believe Ferland would be an upgrade over Heinen.

I think the main two goals for this summer would be to dump Backes if he doesn't hang them up, and make a good trade involving Krug to add a pick and prospect to the pool of players. Those two moves alone would free up over $11 million in cap space and give BOS flexibility to be active in the UFA market and allow the team to retain any assets the following season (DeBrusk, Coyle, Grizz, Lauzon, Bjork ect.)

I would stay away from the ufa market. Let cehlarik play, and make a deadline deal if need be. I’m leaning towards letting Krug walk in ufa.

Contracts are spot on

Pass on Ferland at 4M.... The next Top 6 forward brought in needs to be a legitimate upgrade over what they've been slotting there currently. I don't think Ferland moves the needle. I think Studnicka will need to seriously 'wow' in camp to make the team. Coyle is a legit NHL centerman and allows both he and Frederic to actually stew in Providence and develop.

I hate that Krug trade. Such an overpayment for Sam Steel.

What if that 2nd turned into a 1st coming back BOS way?

I dont think that krug trade makes much sense for ducks. The only team I see that really wants krug is EDM and I think the best trade that can be made is krug for klefbom straight up, and then just let chara hang them up
