Built to stay atop the Central

Description
I hope everyone can agree that Laine has not done enough 5 on 5 this season to justify a monster long-term deal. Both sides are more comfortable with a 2 year bridge to let him earn an 8 figure deal.

Byfuglien is exactly what the Leafs need. A true #1 defenceman who makes them much more physically intimidating. Jets cement Trouba's role at #1 RHD and PP1 which allows him to sign long-term. Kadri gives even more depth down the middle and allows Little to move over to RW. Liljegren is a quality prospect who would be given time to grow in the AHL.

Perreault is both too good and too expensive to be pushed down the depth chart. Montreal improves their top 9 without giving up a roster piece or prospect.

Kulikov is a cap dump, I used Ottawa because he would actually be top 4 for them.

Broissoit has played too well as a backup to stay on the roster. He deserves to get paid more than the Jets can afford. Winnipeg either signs and trades or moves him for assets as RFA.

Someone will give Laine a long term contract whether it’s in Winnipeg or not.

Laine is a little low....6.5 is more reasonable

Byf to TO isnt happeningsmile...We dont need Kadri as Rosy will be in his spot....

Brossoit is a RFA so he will be easy enough to re-sign(his contract for this year is only 650K)

Any offer sheet that the Jets wouldn't match would result in 4 firsts coming back. If Laine gets paid with term, Roslovic would move up the depth chart and a contract like Kadri or Myers would be jettisoned. If the Jets pick up four extra first rounders, that would be awesome with their track record.

It will be interesting to see what Broissoit will command both in contract value and trade assets. Comrie has been arguably the best goalie in the AHL this season. Either way, the Jets are comfortable with their options for 1-2.
