Start Puljujarvi in Bakersfield to rebuild his confidence, also start Yamamoto and Bouchard down there.

Unless they kick the door down and force their way onto the team, don't rush them! With that in mind, I think the Oilers should take a look down the highway at the Flames blueline, they have had a rookie 3rd pairing. In a lot of ways Bouchard=Valimaki, Jones=Kylington, Bear=Andersson. Maybe a rookie 3rd pair could work in EDM.

I bought out Andrej Sekera, as I don't think he will ever be a reliable top 4 after he has essentially lost 2 consecutive seasons due to injuries and father time is catching up to him.

Free agent signings- I think Dzingel would be the ideal winger to play with Mcdavid, he is a young enough UFA that you don't have to worry about giving him 6 seasons.
Pirri is a tough contract to estimate, he has one 20 goal season in the NHL under his belt, yet he can never stick with a club. For a goal starved team like the Oilers I think they would be all over him
Signing Tanev- I think this is a guy the Oilers should be al over too, he's a pain to play against, he's the perfect modern day bottom 6 forward, I feel the same about Brown too who I think they should target from Toronto

I have a very similar envision for what Edmonton should look like. Just a couple things different.

I like Tanev, he’s fast he can hit, he can score, but before this season he’s never hit 20 points. He’ll get a nice contract, but probably around 2.5 million if I had to guess. Don’t think anyone is going to pay him 3.125 million.

Buying out Sekera doesn’t seem like the right move, yet. It’s an expensive buyout and I’d rather do it next season if it has to be done. He’s been injured too much to know how he’ll perform next season when he’s fully recovered. If we can find a way to move Manning and Benning, we can afford Sekera for another season. I think both those guys are movable, and both of them have no use to use. We’ve got young dmen like Jones and bear who will push for those spots. We won’t get anything back for Manning, but he’s still movable

Yes maybe not but he is a really good bottom 6 player, who is still young and let's face it the Oilers bottom 6 is littered with guys who may not be in the NHL if they were in a different organization
