What it might take for Trouba to stay

Created by: TrueNorth
Team: 2019-20 Winnipeg Jets
Initial Creation Date: Feb. 27, 2019
Published: Feb. 27, 2019

Description
Trouba has consistently wanted to be a #1 RHD for a team. Earlier in his career he was stuck behind Buff and Myers. He has proven he is capable of being a #1 pairing guy. He has averaged close to a point per game (10 points in past 13 games) since Buff's injury.

I would love to see Byf in a Leafs jersey, but unfortunately they can't afford a RD at over $7m

One could also argue that they can't afford to go another season without a #1RHD...

none of those trades would be accepted by the other teams

Toronto cant with the cap

Florida is looking for sign some big UFA this summer and need the all the cap

Montreal should be going for a left D Center or Right wing, not another left wing

Other than the fact that he grew up in Michigan, why would Trouba sign in Detroit.

The only way that Toronto trade works out is if you take Zaitsev (probably makes it still somewhat even trade and gives Toronto cap space)
