Yeah it was a REAL waste to trade up to draft him, he might develop a bit but I can't see him ever being anything remotely close to Chara. I highly doubt his skating is gonna develop enough to be much more then a #5 defenseman and he certainly doesn't have Chara's mean streak, it's a shame really cause there's some physical tools there but the skating issue will likely hold him back.

Chara was nothing special until he turned 24 or so. With luck and hard work, perhaps Stanley does the same. Once he's "man strong", he might figure it out.

Not bad. How about Perreault and Stanley for Reilly and a cond. pick (based on Perreault's production)?

How about that but you give us a 4th

I'd be ok with that if Stanley is still a promising prospect.

I personally dont like his game. but that could just be that I'm expecting a 1st round pick to play better. but he has at least 3 years of development left

The bones are there and it's a big win for the current Oilers (cap relief and a bonafide top-line winger). Gallagher would warrant Bouchard straight up. Giving them the Lucic cap relief for Puljujarvi (along with the decent pick in the event Puljujarvi finds his legs as a Hab) is a reasonable return. If you're the Oilers, what would you need to make this happen?

bouchard is the future of thier blue line. gallys great. pij just suffered a 2nd major injury today. hip surgery. not a good return. on top of that bouchard is right D. we have a ton of those
