If the trade deadline showed us anything

Created by: TomAckPDX

Description
...it's that Rob Blake/Kings are pretty conservative. Besides the lost season and ONLY moving Muzzin and Pearson, only pending UFAs were dealt AND there weren't a lot of choices at the deadline (Carter and Phaneuf have really cratered and Martinez was hurt AGAIN at the deadline). You HAVE to buyout Phaneuf and trade Quick (probably to FL or CBJ) just to have enough cap space to resign their RFA/UFAs. So I think they'll resign all the kids, hope we end up with one of the top 2 picks and likely sign NO UFAs. UGH...

And of course, there remains the mysteries of a new coach and whatever the deal is with Gabe Vilardi...

Quick to Columbus makes sense, but why does Florida want three goalies?

That defense is horrendous. I hope Clague is NHL ready next year.
And I think you can go down slightly on the contracts for Rempal and Brickley, and maybe get Kempe and Iafallo a 1 year bridge at 2m each. That, plus the cap going up a few million, maybe space to land a big UFA.

If I'm Florida I'm not giving up what's probably a top 10 pick in this years draft for Quick

Quick to Carolina, Columbus, Calgary or Colorado. That's my guess. Maybe Buffalo?
