The Ottawa trade could make sense if they strike out in UFA and need some salary to meet the floor. I think they'll probably be close to the floor anyways when you count their IR guy's, but it'd be a good way to get a couple picks. I really don't see any good UFA signing there until there is a change in Ownership or Management.

That's a good comment because it shows a realistic view. I'm glad you didn't trade them each separately for 2nd or 3rd round picks like some people do as if they hold good value currently.

I actually think a much more likely deal is to a contender, but goes through Ottawa so Ottawa can keep 3 million in cap hit for assets from both ends.
