His motivation is to get his extension done asap, stay loyal to Tampa and his teammates, & not risk putting his franchise in a bad cap situation while they're literally fighting to keep him in Tampa... And I'm tired of explaining the tax benefit to people, but it's as simple as this. 1. We're talking about the NHL, not the NBA or MLB. 2. Cap hit, and post tax earnings are 2 separate numbers... And YES, the tax rate is what determines the latter. Here's the calculator, knock yourself out: https://gavingroup.ca/nhl-tax-calculator/

Oh, I can read what personal tax rates are, but are they really meaningful in the true tax rates for entertainers. Think not. Why you even think anyone think cap hit and post tax earnings are the same, what kinda red herring is that?
If you think Point takes less long term money "to stay loyal", that's one theory.

Lmao because that's exactly what you're implying, that tax rate doesn't impact post tax earnings... Meaning you think every player pays the same % of taxes off their cap hit. Incorrect, that's a complete myth... But since you believe the tax rates are the same, please tell me what the going tax rate is for all NHL players. And Point's "desire to stay loyal to TB" isn't a theory, its a fact: https://twitter.com/JoeSmithTB/status/1093171442924036096

Sorry you couldn't read. I certainly didn't say that all tax rates are the same. And why do keep on keep talking about cap hit? Wow, where do you come up with this stuff? I did say personal tax rates are kinda meaningless when calculating entertainers tax rates. Point's desire to stay in TB is probably true, it's the dollars and term of his contract is still in question.

Then I have no idea what you're claiming lol. Let's try this, if tax rates ARE NOT "meaningful", how would you explain the extra $820k that Tyler Johnson pockets after post tax earnings, compared to Morgan Reilly who also has a 5m cap hit... Hm? Tax benefit.
