Trades
1.
DET
  1. 2020 5th round pick (EDM)
Additional Details:
If he is going to sit scratched in Detroit we may as well get a pick out of it. Oilers could use him.
2.
DET
  1. 2020 6th round pick (DAL)
Additional Details:
Clears room for younger defensemen who are set to come up. Sends Daley back to the Stars who do not have a very deep defense and is also where Daley played for a long, long time.
3.
DET
  1. 2020 6th round pick (NYI)
Additional Details:
Another defenseman cleared. The Islanders have a lot of cap space and could afford to have a veteran presence for a short time.
4.
DET
Represents offer sheet compensation for Jacob Trouba. Trouba's defensive play is amazing even though he doesn't score much. He has had lots of contract troubles with Winnipeg and has indicated he would like to return to his home state of Michigan. Detroit could offer him the maximum money requiring them to give up a first and a second, sign him to a one year 6 million per year and then a long term 7 million - 8 million a year contract to play at home. Taking the offer sheet route would probably be easier than outbidding other teams.
    WPG
    1. 2020 1st round pick (DET)
    2. 2020 3rd round pick (DET)
    5.
    DET
    1. Samsonov, Ilya
    Additional Details:
A Russian for a Russian. Thankfully, once again, the goalie market is pretty weak. We could get an elite-potential goalie pretty cheaply. In my opinion, I think we have a very deep pool of left-wingers and we could afford to give him up
    WSH

I thought they may because they have Holtby. It's one of the few pieces I actually thought made sense because they are solid between the pipes.

NSH definitely doesn't do that. Saros is younger, better, and cheaper than Bernier. He's also their future.

How? I think for the most part they're fair. Washington could probably ask for another pick or something but I think it's fine.

Well The Wings said they wouldn't contest any offer sheets at the start of the season for Frk and I know that it doesn't mean much to a lot of people on this sit but he just cleared waivers so why would a team give up a pick no matter what round when they could have had him for free.
Daley's cap hit of over $3M and is over 35 and has spent a good part of the season injured maybe a team try to pick him up a the TDL but I doubt that as well.
Ericsson has been a big but somewhat slow defenseman that doesn't use his size too his advantage. Now he was the last pick in his draft year and could play a lot of minutes with out giving up too much. He probably should have been bought out a couples of years ago but Holland loyalty to players has stopped that from happening and I doubt he is moved in his last season. he will retire a Wing and then go back to Sweden.
Sadowy has had limited success in the ECHL he has absolutely no value to a NHL team.
Evgeny Svechnikov wasn't a lock to make the Wings before his injury. Now I like the way he is determined to make it to the NHL and I'd love to see him play well and make it especially wearing the Winged Wheel but the truth is no one knows until he is back on the ice skating.
So there is no way Washington going to trade one of their best prospects for a ECHL career player and a guy coming off the IR.
I have no idea about Trouba and I don't think anyone except Trouba his agent and upper management for Winnipeg have any idea of what's going to happen. I know Detroit fans and media think Trouba is on his way here to Detroit and most fans and media in Winnipeg don't fell it is that bad they he will likely sign a bridge deal. He is a UFA after next season since this season is his 7th season. If he gets traded and signs a long long term deal or he signs a 2 or 3 year bridge deal. Then I think the Detroit rumors are just that rumors. if he only signs a one year deal then he probably want out of Winnipeg. I won't believe that he really wants to play in Detroit till he is signed and on our roster. I also think Winnipeg will match any offer sheet till multiple 1st rd picks are part of the compensation.

I'm not sure this is very realistic. The first 2 trades are pretty realistic (I believe Daley will be dealt near the draft), and I believe Frk has value to a team (more likely Montreal), but Big E has no value to a team, unless it's about hitting the cap floor (Ottawa).

WSH is never going to trade Samsonov, especially because Holtby is a UFA in 2 years (just about the time Samsonov will be ready), and Copley isn't a starter in the league. Svech had made the team in training camp (and they could have very much used him instead of Ehn, Witkowski, Frk).

No way DET signs Trouba to an offer sheet, especially since just getting Trouba doesn't make them a playoff team, so that pick is a lottery pick. Holland won't do it, Stevie Y won't do it. While Trouba is a good defensemen, he's more of a #2 guy than a #1. While DET could use him, not at the cost of a top 10 pick. I think they'll wait until 2020 (when they should be ready to compete) and just sign him as a UFA.
