I don't know why I came in here thinking you were going to try to get Kapanen for a 2nd rounder, but 5 stars for this effort.

The only thing that I'd question is if the Rangers will feel like they're good enough to be a playoff team with this signing. That first round pick could very quickly become a lottery pick which, given their status as a rebuilding team, is a very dangerous game to play. Giving up a high 1st, 2nd and 3rd in what projects to be an extremely deep draft could be a risk they aren't willing to take. If they think they're ready to take the next step though, giver!

Trouba isn't signing that offer sheet. Jets might match and that destroys Trouba's plan to be UFA in 2020.

Exactly, Cheveldayoff would match a $7 million offer sheet on Trouba rather easily.

LOL love all the simpletons who haven't been watching the Trouba saga all these years. He's turned down long term deals from the Jets, forced arbitration, and why to get to UFA as soon as possible .
