Most Likely what the Wild would do

Description
As much as I would like to see the Wild keep Zucker and Spurgeon, I could see one or both get moved in the offseason. Especially if we miss the playoffs.

Zucker trade: I picked Vegas because I could live with this trade. Even if the prospect we get in return doesnt turn out Zucker goes home and we get a pick also.

Spurgeon trade makes sense for Edmonton. Hopefully we could get a 1st back.

I feel like Fenton is going to continue to shake things up and he hasnt gotten that great of a haul back (so far) on the core players he has moved. So I am not expecting a big piece coming back. I also think we wont make a huge splash in free agency and instead sign the filler guys we have been doing for the past few years. I still feel like we still have the possibility to be contenders but I dont expect us to make that push before the season.

Trades
1.
MIN
  1. Glass, Cody
  2. 2019 3rd round pick (NSH)
Additional Details:
Wild get a center prospect and a pick at the draft. I feel like this would be too much for Fenton to get in return but hot end of the season for Zucker could increase the value.
VGK
  1. Zucker, Jason
Additional Details:
Zucker goes home. Vegas gets a hometown, scoring, RW.
2.
MIN
  1. 2019 1st round pick (EDM)
Additional Details:
Rights to Jesse Puljujarvi

Wild get another pick and prospect for a core player. 1st might be a stretch but with possible behavior issues could maybe get a 1st from them.
EDM
  1. Spurgeon, Jared
Additional Details:
Edmonton gets a solid RHD to help their defense.

From most accounts, Glass is considered untouchable for Vegas. I happen to disagree because Vegas has compiled a veteran-laiden roster and are situated to contend right now...so the trade actually makes some sense to me. I do, however, believe the Wild would have to add to their side of the deal and take away the Vegas 3rd.
I like the Spurgeon trade. The Wild would get a very nice piece for the future, and a lottery ticket IF Puljujarvi ever figures it out.

Oilers and Vegas don't have cap to make trade without sending money back to Wild.. This is true with so many trades. Certainly the Oilers aren't given up so much for one year of Spurgeon. Zucker isn't really needed in Vegas.

I think he’s saying that the 1st is an elite C. I would let go that far but he’s not wrong as that’s way to much to give up for 1 season of Spurgeon. Maybe if it was a 2020 conditional 2nd where if they make the playoffs it turns into a 1st but not a top 10 pick and a prospect they still think has value.

Ya. The first is too much to give up. Just don’t know how we landed at elite center

2019 draft is very offence heavy, I see no name that can’t succeed this year. Alex Turcotte maybe not elite
