One of Strome, Vesey or Namestnikov will be moved. Not leaving Fast on the bench. Probably bring back Claesson for a year as 7th Defenseman.

I don't see DeAngelo getting 6 years. Probably 3 years for all 3.

3 for $8.4 for DeAngelo
3 for $10.2 for Buchnevich
3 for $6.6 for Lemieux

Do you understand what "no bridges" means? 3 year deals are all bridge deals

I understand quite well what a Bridge is (and technically, they are 2 year deals). But I don't see them getting the longer deals you posted. I predict somewhere in that middle range of 3 or 4 years.

he's greatly overvalued -- it's said he is a good defender but he is not

Lemieux does not have arbitration rights; you can sign him to a very cheap, six figure 2 year deal.

Not sure why Deangelo would want three years; either give him 4 so that he's an UFA at the end of the contract, or bridge him so he knows his value. As I have said to @aspina25 I actually do not think bridging Deangelo is the worst move they could make. They will have K'Andre (left handed but plays right side) and Nils Lundkvist coming up in 2-4 years, and they will have enough cap space to afford a RHD if they handle their contracts right. So if need be, you can bridge Deangelo and if he's going to cost too much you trade him and get return on the asset. Plus, I am sure they will address defense in this draft as well, where they have at the moment 5 picks in the first two rounds.

I would go 4 then. 4 years for $14M or $15M sound about right?

3.5 AAV sounds good, but I would not definitively state whether I prefer a bridge or a 4 year deal; if it were me, it would depend on what else I am trying to accomplish.

In my ideal world he gets the Chychrun deal (4.5x6) because it's probably enticing enough for him to sign (likely 1-1.5 more than he'd get offered otherwise) but by the time the Rangers are crunched for cap again, it'll seem like a steal.

I like the idea of betting on your kids while you can afford to do so

I think that's a fair offer. I think it's going to depend on whether or not you want to address the blueline through free agency, and what the cost would be. If you bridge Deangelo, and he plays well, then you're betting on other "kids" that will come up at the end of the contract. It's just accounting for risk in different ways.

That AAV over 6 years is fine. Just wary of giving a Long Term deal like that to someone who only just started turning the corner midway through the Season (and who had attitude issues in the past). He looks great right now, but I would have liked him to show it over a larger sample size before going for 6 years.

It's because he has a lot of untapped potential offensively, he was one of the keys to the rangers winning streak back in november/december. He rose up quickly after the deadline last year and to someone that watches the game he is so infuriating to watch sometimes. He only has roughly 50 giveaways this year but it seems like all of them came in the last month or so. He just completely fell off and DeAngelo literally stole his spot as the better prospect and hasn't looked back. Pionk will end up being a shattenkirk type player-- not really a defenseman but more of a powerplay specialist. He does have some value and I would like to see him with a steady good partner (he hasn't looked terrible with Hajek to be honest) but i would rather trade him with a late first rounder for someone with more potential but may not be able to contribute just yet.

Pionk got a lot of minutes early in the year, high leverage situations. And it seemed to wear him down. He really looks lost in his own end now, and the offense has dried up. I liked him more than D'Angelo going into the season but I've changed my mind.

Why not buyout Shatty, since coming to New York he’s sucked?
