A lot of things wrong with this:
1. Rask doesn't get you a 2nd he's pretty garbage.
2. Don't see the reason Dallas trades for Suter when scoring is their issue.
3. Calgary can't afford Zucker without getting rid of one of their bigger contracts.
4. Marleau isn't waiving his NMC Toronto is stuck with him.
5. Koivu is not worth a 1st anymore, especially coming off that MCL or ACL tear.
6. Islanders shouldn't do that. Bode Wilde is gonna be a stud.
7. After acquiring Montour I don't think the Sabres would feel the need for Spurgeon.
8. Don't see the point in trading Staal after just extending him.
9. Carolina doesn't need Brodin.
10. Big overpayment for Dubnyk, and I'm somebody who is a HUGE fan of him.
11. Don't see Backes waiving his NMC unless it's to go back to St.Louis.
12. Krejci ain't waiving his NMC either.

A little overlook but a team can only retain salary on three players per year. Also this team doesn't hit the cap floor but I do like the pick collecting.

Some of those are valid, some aren't. The biggest thing is that an NHL team can only retain 2 salaries at a time. You're on the books for 4.
