Yeah, um, i would do all of these, and the salaries seem right too. Nice job. Trades are fair for the most part. You move johan larsson out and its even better. Its just time to move replacement level guys that have never won a thing out of here. I mean if you can find a landing spot for okposo that wont involve us taking a different steaming pile of garbage back- and id say you should punch up your resume and get it to pegula.

I do not think Gretzky would make the trade. We need an offensive RHD but IMO the offensive skills of Ristolainen do not exceed the shut down skills of Larsson. Then Thompson, Nylander and the 2nd are no where near the quality of RNH. Maybe Sheary, SJS first and Nylander would move the needle but not that offer. Sorry about that.

Thanks - I think there's a good chance that anyone Botterill tries to add in a 'hockey trade' would not only need to be in that age group of 23-27 and be a good skater but also someone from a winning culture to help. The Hawks won't trade their two icons (Kane/Toews) or upcoming star (DeBrincat) and can't unload aging players (Keith/Seabrook). Saad is one of their only marketable players left to use to start retooling the roster around Kane and Toews IMO and his Cup wins will be the kind of influence Botterill wants to add. I also see RNH as a strong-2 way center that can handle 2C offensive duties til Mittelstadt is ready and also then slip into a 3C role thereafter as a more two-way player. Larsson would be a great partner for Dahlin.

Sadly, I don't see Okposo being tradeable - aside from his contract, teams around the league must see his eroding offensive production and slow skating as signs of a fading player. His leadership in the locker room won't be enough to entice someone so I think Buffalo is stuck with him until the expansion draft.

As for Larsson, he's been the main reason for the PK improving so much this season and has become a textbook 4th line center. The days of expecting offense from him are thankfully over - and while he doesn't need to be part of the long-term picture, my roster had him as a 2 year placeholder until Asplund is really ready to take over as 4C. I don't see that transition happening next season and in 2 years, when he should be, Larsson can be a good mentor (and fellow countryman) by becoming the LW on the 4th line in the 2nd year of his contract before being released.

Why? Thompson doesn't have the speed, agility or work ethic of Sheary. He's akin to another Kotalik whose shot can carry him only so far but doesn't compensate for lackadaisical efforts and limited playmaking ability. Besides, until the Sabres win something of consequence, I don't see Botterill purging anyone he added with Cup experience.

Fair point about the offensive return but the Oilers also need to free up some cap room if they're going to pursue free agents this summer to play with McDavid and Draisaitl - as much as RNH is their 3rd best player, he's been part of the losing culture in Edmonton for so long so it would seem new GM (which won't be Gretzky) may look for giving a change of scenery.

Thompson still has potential hes in his 2nd year pro and should still prolly be in the AHL but he has all the tools to succeed hes a 1st round pick big part of ROR trade...Sheary is a 3rd line LW on a playoff team....Thompson has the skills to be a 2nd line player just had to put it all together and he an also play Center...Sheary has already hit his prime basically
