They will uyout Smith or Staal before they buyout Shattenkirk. While the 1st year of his Buyout would provide good savings, that $6M hit in year 2 is an absolute killer.

Agreed, in all likelihood they shouldn't buyout anyone this off-season

Certainly would not buyout anyone with more than a year left on contract. I actually think Shattenkirk statistically has been solid; his offensive production has been down a little but at least he's suppressing shots .

What do you two think about the prospects of trading Brendan Smith? I do not think he'll waive for Ottawa, but maybe a team like the Ducks who now have openings at defense? Was thinking Smith for Eaves (who they waived) as a base.

How do you see buyout history? Can’t see based on what Kshat buyout would be

Don't think you can access that in AGM mode. CapFriendly does have an awesome buyout calculator over in the "calculators" tab though

Would trade Smith in a heartbeat. While Ottawa would be ideal (only team that would probably take entire Cap hit) his better play of late could be enough to move him elsewhere.
