Laughton and the 1st is a nice add, but I don't think the Leafs really want anything to do with Gudas. The guy keeps finding himself suspended. I would think Myers has to be included.

I think Sanheim has to be the piece coming back otherwise leafs look elsewhere. Maybe Carolina, Faulk?

Myers and Sanheim are both top quality, potential number 1 D. Kadri is good but a 55-65 point player and the Leafs aren't rolling in cap space. I absolutely can't see the Flyers being willing to move either of them unless the deal blows the doors off and Kadri doesn't.

Yup I agree, I wouldn’t have intrest in sanheim but Myers yes. I don’t think the leafs would be willing to offer much more other than a defensive prospect.

God no. Myers May have the potential to be a good top 4 dman, but that's just potential. Kadri has already solidified himself as a solid 2C guaranteed. Toronto would still need a pick coming back the other way, plus maybe a mid tier prospect

Leafs aren't "rolling in cap space", yes you're correct. But Kadri is also on one of the best deals in the league. He won't come cheap and won't be a cap dump either, Kadri for Myers, 2nd and a mid tier prospect would be a fair deal

Not sure if philly would be willing. We would need to persuade them. Kadri for Myers frees up almost 3m and helps solidify our defence. He has played very well so far and I can only see him getting better.

Kadri is the best 3C in the league and would be a 2C on 95% of the teams in the league. Yes the Leafs will be in cap issues soon, but he's not seen as the guy they have to move to get out of it. He's on one of the best contracts in the league for a two way centre that scores 30 goals and puts up 60 points while having a physical edge too.. to trade that straight up for Myers who has 9 games of NHL experience and could very easily be a bust just as much as he could develop into a top 4 dman, is kinda a laughable offer from the Leafs side. They could easily move Kadri to another team for a much more proven dman and know what they're getting rather than risk it for a maybe just to dump his salary when they done have to

We will see what the Dubas plan is soon enough but trying to get a Dman with experience under 700k might be impossible. I don’t have much doubt about Myers ability to play at the nhl level. He has all the tools. That might be why I am willing to offer more.

I'm not saying that he doesn't have a good chance to develop, but it's just that. A chance. Where's the experience that you're talking about? Myers has played 9 career NHL games

Logic dictates that it would have to be a defenseman, and an upgrade from what the Leafs currently have. Gudas to me is a hard no, so that pretty much leaves Sanheim who plays his off side and Myers. I don't think Myers 1-for-1 for Kadri is enough. Maybe Laughton, Myers and a 2nd rounder?

There are certain "prospects" that people just know are going to be very good. Myers is one of those guys. When Scott Gordon was asked what Myers could improve upon (after Myers played 3-4 games in the NHL), Gordon literally said, I can't think of a single thing. Myers has #1 potential and already slots in as a top 4 in the Flyers lineup. Kadri is good and under-rated by most but he is not worth a guy that has #1 upside.

Also, again, people under-rate Gudas big time. He has been very solid for the Flyers and probably our most consistent D man. At $2 mil he is a steal of a contract for a top 4 D man. This trade does what both teams need to do. Leafs need to bolster their D and the Flyers need a 2/3C. Plus the Leafs get cheap depth and toughness in Laughton as well as a 1st round pick. This allows TOR to sign their young guns and keep the talent level very high.

"Keeps finding himself suspended" so missing 2 games means that much to you? Some added grit is exactly what TOR needs or they are never getting out of the 1st round.

I’m saying getting a Dman with experience under 700k is impossible unless you want another hainsey. Other than a washed up vet. A move like this coupled with a brown trade would leave us enough room to keep zaitsev. Which means we could have Myers on the third pair of need be. But I think he would pair well with muzzin.

I see a lot of agm’s paying to get rid of zaitsev. Personally I see him as neutral value, maybe get a 5th back for him. Seeing as only he and ozzy will be our only two RHD with any experience next season and the nothing value in trading zaitsev maybe the better move is Kadri. If we can get more for him great.... if not, well it’s a cap league.

Well if the leafs fans say no and the philly fans say no... I must be very close.

The reason the Leafs would trade Kadri is for cap space. So maybe the offer as posted kinda suits the Leafs needs (and Flyers too). Leaf would hoping for poor season in Philly and get a lottery pick.
So while Sanheim for Kadri might be more on ice equal. it's kinda of a lateral cap trade. Myers as we understand is an untouchable.

I would say after the very nice season and progress made by Sanheim, he is untouchable as well. This is why Hextall wouldn't move him for Hoffman last year, he knew what he had.

I'd rather offer sheet Johnsson or Kapanen at Kadri's cap hit than do the above deal or trade Sanheim or Myers personally.

there were a few CGY reporters that leaked that Sanheim was the reason the Flyers backed out of the deal for Dougie Hamilton too.

Well that's complete BS. Look at his entire career. He's been suspended numerous times, including a sweet old 10 gamer last season.

So what? He plays on the edge. Something your soft Leafs need! If he misses a couple regular season games, who cares! He will be very useful when the grind of the playoffs hits!

He's not what the Leafs need, there's really no discussion here. He's a dirty player. The Leafs play a speed game, something Jake Muzzin can barely keep up with. No way Gudas could keep up. He's not the player the Leafs need at all.

Gudas can't keep up? He seems to have been just fine with the Flyers this year...

Have fun losing to BOS in the 1st round again because of the softness of your team.
