Cap crunch a Bruin

Created by: Fox_Czar_Cup
Team: 2019-20 Boston Bruins
Initial Creation Date: Mar. 11, 2019
Published: Mar. 11, 2019
Salary Cap Mode: Basic
Description
2019 Picks: - 2 & 5. 2020 - 4th round. Outsiders view?!
Needs: Picks.
Answer?: Determine who stays on left D. Assuming Krug is too important and will be resigned, Chara 1 more year, Moore is not going anywhere soon. Grzelcyk is odd man out and traded for picks (or Krug?).

Oh buddy. This is an absolute mess. Grizz has been arguably their best d man this year. Studnicka won’t be a 4th liner. Bjork won’t be on the team. The 4th line won’t be broken up, and there is precisely a 0.0% chance the bruins sign Carlo to a 4 year deal, because such a deal has never been signed in the history of the cap era for good reason

Krug has to go no choice, your line-up is so soft won't ever win a playoff series, Wags has to stay and Hienen is an overpay.

you are underestimating the McAvoy deal-- he already turned down a long term extension so it looks like he will hold out to try and make sure he gets his money..
I can see 5.8m for 3-4 years, but not 7. With the deals some young free agents are getting, i'm sure rfa compensation and the salary cap will be a highly discussed item come the CBA opt out in september

Well said. On a 7-8 year deal, he'll be north of $8M per season. If they have to cap crunch they're either gonna have to bridge deal him around 5 years or risk an offer sheet for the long term money he'd get from almost any other team in the league

5 years isn’t a bridge. If 5 years is a bridge 8 years is a bridge

I don't see Chara playing next year and frankly I don't know why Boston would really want him back. I know he's your big guy and enforcer. But his play has really declined. Watching him in the pens game was painful. He's just too slow out there at 41. The wheels are falling off. He's not fast enough on the ice to play the way he use to play. You can see that in his hits numbers. At some point you have to move on. 42 I think is the age you do that, especially if you think organizationally you have depth.
They will miss the intangibles but if he gets any slower out there you aren't going to want him on the ice.

Honest Question: Do you have OCD? You added chump change on the end of every deal which is very quirky imo. If you do have it np, but if you don't that isn't really something that makes sense. You honestly think $9 to $1 Dollar makes a difference to these guys?

Good eye lol! It's a very helpful reminder tip on this "quirky" site, because it doesn't show how long you've signed the player until you post it. Then again for making the following year, you drop the number by one. Helpful, while not making a difference, unless someone like you notices smile
