Laine and Connor are not signing 2 year deals just to help the cap situation. Myers is pretty much gone if he asks for that much from Winnipeg, he'll be the one to take a discount if needed. But he's probably realistically gone.
Laine gets close to 5 years $9.5M per on the low end, Connor will be around 5-6 years at over $7M per. There's more than a cap crunch than you think

Conner already said he would be willing to look at a bridge deal if it helps keep the core together. You may be right on Laine, but I think he gambles on himself, and shows he can score 50. Then gets 10-12 Mil in a couple of years. Myers will get all of that if not more. A big, strong, smooth puck handling steady D-man is in high demand in the NHL right now.

But, I could be right off. Not sure how they rebound if they lose Trouba and Myers.

Chiarot, tanev, Lindholm, Myers all replaced by youth, and more dough to laine and Connor. IMO I could even see them letting trouba play out his one year deal and losing him for nothing, but gaining the cap room, for morrisey

I think Niku could benefit with 1 more full season in the minors. Still could use a little more muscle to compete a full 82 games and then playoffs in the NHL. Copp, falls victim to the cap. I think he will be looking for close to 2 mil/season and at that point I would rather the Jets pay Tanev.

Lottery bound Wings aren't giving up so much for a one year rental. Keep a motivated Trouba for one last year and don't sign Myers.

You think he will be a rental? He is from Michigan and has made it very clear he would love to play close to home.

Niku is nhl ready. Some offseason strength training and he is ready for top 4. He is going to be on the team next year. Question is who else?

Copp stays over Taney mainly because Taney is a ufa. Copp is also the better player and if I can get him signed to a long term (3-4 years) at 2 million I take it. First of all, he is evrything the jets like from a vet. Second of all he has the skill set to be a good mentor for young players like roslovic, Appleton, vesalainen etc so we don’t have a petan repeat.

I believe kulikov is moved. Perreault as well. That should give enough cap space to sign Connor and laine long term. You have a massive overpay for Tanev and lindholm as well. Myers is too much too. 6 million seems good. Chiarot is gone if he commands that much. The jets go for beaulieu instead then at less than 2 million. If you want to bridge Connor and laine though, resign Hayes

Exactly, so the Wings wait a year and sign him as a UFA....for free. Yes, he trade value is one year rental.

I would much, much, much rather have Copp at sub 2mill realistically something like 1.5-1.8mill than Tanev at over 2mill.

If I'm nearly any team in the NHL, I offer sheet Laine $8.1 mil over 4 years. Only lose a 1st, 2nd, & 3rd rder. Laine is gonna want to be paid now, y'all aren't going to be able to hold onto all your studs
