That's just a lazy comment, the Oilers have struggled to find anyone to play with McDavid not named Draisaitl. The team find an option internally that costs them no assets and for some reason thats a terrible idea? I can tell you whats better then a 6th round pick, any player in the NHL because the chance of your 6th round pick making the show is about 8-12%.

Now thats not to say i wouldn't trade Kassian in a package for a better player in return, but the way this roster is constructed leave $12M in cap space and i can tell you that Kassian is a better player then Currie, Malone, Khaira, Pirri and Brown(for now).
